A nine-run top of the first and three more in the second gave Barlow a lead that easily held. Weston scored five in the fifth on doubles by Madelyne Culkin and Ellie English, a single by Julia Constantine, and a groundout by Linnea Bailor. Barlow added a run in the seventh.

Tuesday, May 14

Weston 12, Immaculate 13

Twelve hits, a Madelyne Culkin grand slam, and a home run by Ellie English weren’t quite enough to spare Weston a narrow loss as a five-run sixth inning gave Immaculate a lead that almost didn’t hold.

Sydney Lyon took the mound for Trojans and helped her own cause with four hits and three RBI. Weston had a 10-8 lead going into the sixth, which ended with Immaculate ahead by three. A Trojan response in the top of the seventh came up one run short after Culkin, who had singled, crossed the plate with English on the latter's long ball.

Thursday, May 9

Weston 2, Brookfield 7

A first-inning home run Madelyne Culkin got Weston off to a good start, but except for Sydney Lyon’s three-for-four night, other Trojan bats were silent. Brookfield took the lead in the second, steadily added to their advantage, and ultimately notched a 7-2 win. Zephyr Parker was on the mound for four innings and took the loss.

Thursday, May 9

Weston 8, New Milford 9

New Milford jumped to a 3-1 lead in the first inning. Both sides scored two in the third. Four Weston runners crossed the plate in the fourth, and by the bottom of the frame Trojans led 7-6. It didn’t last. Three unanswered runs in the sixth put New Milford back in the lead. Weston made a run in the seventh, scoring one run, but needed at least one more, which didn’t come.

Weston bats were active throughout the game with 11 hits. Trojan’s big fourth inning was powered in part by a key single by Annabelle Sanok and a double by Sydney Lyon. Lyon pitched six innings and took the loss, a tough break after contributing 4 hits and 3 RBI in 4 at-bats. Abby English and Linnea Bailor each had two hits, Bailor also an RBI. Julia Constantine and Tess Travers also had hits for Weston.

Wednesday, May 8

Weston 1, Stratford 8

Stratford came out on fire and by the end of the second inning had a 6-0 lead. Weston bats were quiet, producing only one hit, a final-inning single by Tess Travers. Travers had driven in Weston’s only run in the fourth inning, a groundout that scored Ellie English. English had walked, taken second on a passed ball, and stolen third.
