With two boutique Westport studios serving hundreds of loyal clients, Westport Pilates founder and owner Cait Lyddy, a Weston resident since 2004, says that she has built her business over the past 14 years by staying true to Joseph Pilates’ mission of strengthening, lengthening and balancing the body.

"Pilates is so much more than just fitness," Cait says. "Once our clients experience this magic, they tend to be lifers."

Cait says that people often ask her the secret of her success. "Beyond staying true to the original Classical Pilates Method and using only the finest classical equipment, we attribute our success to consistently delivering the experience of this great method with passion, care and expertise."

"Of course, that starts with our instructors who are all not only dedicated practitioners of Pilates, but also deeply experienced teachers. We meet the needs of our clients, who demand the very best when it comes to their health, wellness and fitness and the quality speaks for itself!"

Even maintaining her Pilates equipment is a true labor of love for Cait, who is often found cleaning and fine-tuning her essential Cadillac, Reformer and Tower equipment late into the evening.

With a current roster of eight certified Pilates instructors on staff, and a growing referral network among Fairfield County physicians and physical therapists prescribing Westport Pilates’ exclusive brand of Classical Pilates to their patients, Cait is hoping to increase her staff in the coming months.

Because demand for Pilates sessions at Cait’s studios — where she offers Private, Duet and Trio sessions as well as Reformer/Tower and Mat classes — is currently exceeding supply, Cait will soon be opening Teacher Training program, offering dedicated students who successfully complete the program guaranteed employment at Westport Pilates.

"Students will be learning from the best trainers around," Cait says. "This will put them at a tremendous advantage in their exciting new careers."

Westport Pilates East, offering both group and private lessons, is located at 1015 Post Road East and Westport Pilates West, offering private lessons only, is located at 420 Post Road West.
